Erectile
Dysfunction
Erectile
Dysfunction can be a difficult and embarrassing condition
to talk about with your partner, let alone with someone
you’ve never met. The staff at Michigan Urological
Clinic are highly trained and sensitive professionals who
make sure that your comfort and well-being are paramount.
There are often several different treatment options available,
and choosing the appropriate one can be difficult. We’ll
spend time with you to reach an appropriate solution.
• Confidential Evaluation and Counseling
is a standard part of our treatment.
• Hormonal Therapy
• Vacuum Constriction Devices A
VCD is an external pump that a man places over his penis
to help achieve an erection. They are most often used to
treat medical causes of erectile dysfunction, including
poor blood flow, or nerve damage. They can also be used
to treat anxiety-based problems.
• Injection Therapy Injection
Therapy, the injection of medication into the shaft of
the penis, is used to treat
erectile dysfuction that is medically based, such as poor
circulation or nerve damage. However, because injection
therapy can cause scar tissue, it is not recommended as
a first-choice treatment for stress related causes.
• Implanted Inflatable Penile Prostheses
When there is a clear medical reason for not being
able to achieve an erection, and when that situation is
unlikely to improve, an inflatable penile prosthesis can
be surgically implanted into the penis. This will allow
a man to have an erection whenever he chooses. The penis
doesn’t deflate on its own, but rather the male manually
deflates it using a release valve.
• Reconstructive Surgery
