Prenatal Diagnosis and Surgery

Occasionally, urological conditions in children are detected by ultrasound – before birth. In these cases, problems can be treated through prenatal surgery at a suitable time in the pregnancy.

Prenatal surgeries can be used to treat conditions such as:
• Bladder exstrophy – when the bladder is formed outside the body
• Urinary tract obstructions
• Kidney tumors
